Dear Readers,

Vietnam and Great Jamahiriya are far from each other in geography but have  always supported and helped each other in the past struggle for national independence and freedom as well as in the cause of national construction and development at present time. With the cultivation of the two countries’  leaders and efforts of the two peoples, the relations of friendship and multi-field cooperation between Vietnam and Libya are constantly consolidated and developed. Nowadays, the two countries have a good opportunity to push their relations to the new stage, meeting with the aspiration and for interests of their peoples.

Together with good political relation, the economic cooperation has been seen new development. The two Governments have always created a favorable environment for bilateral cooperation and investments. The two countries had signed many important documents such as:  the Agreement on Bilateral Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation (19/2/1976); Agreement on Commerce (17/10/1983), MOU on Cooperation between two Ministries of Foreign Affairs (31/01/2007). At the end of 2009, the XI session of meeting of Libya-Vietnam Inter-Government Committee was successfully held in Tripoli. The two sides discussed and agreed the orientation and measures to improve their cooperation in all fields.

Great Jamahiriya is one of the biggest economic potential countries in Africa. In recent years, the economy of Libya has developed dynamically; its external economic relations have constantly opened. With a favorable geographical location and abundant financial resources mainly from petroleum, Libya has been pushing up its national construction and development, especially in infrastructure and industry etc. Libyan companies have begun to show interest in finding the Vietnamese market as a diversified goods supplier of high-quality and competitively priced goods. Vietnamese compnies are also interested in the Libyan market, especially in labour cooperation and oil and gas.

I have great honor to be appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya. As the head of the mission, I will make every effort to contribute to strengthening and developing the relations of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Great Jamahiriya for the interests of the two countries.
